doubt
on a park bench
cold winter day
clouds and sun
both, beautiful and
gray
snowflakes falling
gentle stings
melting to droplets
marvelous things
accumulating weight
of a mother's anguish
a burden misplaced
and unextinguished
my perceptions
caught in the tension between
the breeze shivering
body hands cold aching
And the snowflakes
down from heaven
gentle drifting
stinging whispering:
remember remember
